Vehicle Bursts Into Flames After Crashing Into Concord Antique Restoration Shop

CONCORD, NC — An antique furniture and restoration shop was heavily damaged Wednesday morning after a vehicle crashed into the building and burst into flames.

The incident happened around 8am at Annie’s Cane Shop located off Highway 601 South and Old Monroe Circle.

Witnesses say two vehicle collided at the intersection, which sent one of them crashing into the front of the shop. After crashing into the building, officials with Allen VFD say gas from the vehicle ignited and burst into flames.

Video taken from across the street shows the extent of the blaze.

Officials say it took crews about 15 minutes to control the fire.

Two people were reportedly injured during the incident and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Courtney Bradley, a family member of the owners, tells WCCB the business suffered a lot of smoke and water damage in addition to the broken window, burned awning, and hole left in the wall where the collision occurred.

Officials say the building is still structurally sound.

According to the Annie’s Cane Shop website, the business has been around since 1982 and specializes in the “immaculate” restoration of antique items.
