CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Millions of cancer survivors deal with issues outside of the disease post-treatment.
Tara Ballard, of Novant Health Cancer Care, is talking about programs available to assist survivors.
She says some of those challenges include symptom management, how your family is handling your well-being, and employment. It’s a new normal patients have to adapt to and they don’t have the same energy level they did before they were diagnosed.
Ballard says survivors should realize it is normal to feel different and should realize that they should reach out for support.
From massages to exercise services, Ballard details the variety of help her department offers for survivors.
