BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Police say a good samaritan was killed in Burke County late Wednesday night.
The man was allegedly helping a woman after her truck broke down on NC 18 near Rhoney Road when they were struck by an SUV.
The 49-year-old man was killed and the woman was taken a local hospital with serious injuries. Police say the driver of the SUV was also injured in the accident after the SUV overturned shortly after it struck the pedestrians.
Investigators have not released the name of the victim at this time. No word on charges.
