CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Forget going to the store to get your kid a bike – make one instead!

The North American Handmade Bicycle Show is coming to the Charlotte Convention Center for its tenth anniversary this weekend. Tickets are still available.

It’s the first time the show will be in the Queen City – they’re expecting a turnout of about 150 exhibitos showcasing their handmade bikes, and upwards of about 7,200 attendees.

Founder Don Walker is showing off a blue track bike without brakes – you have to slow it down by slowing your leg rotation.

The North American Handmade Bicycle Show partners with TRIPS for KIDS, which gets at-risk kids interested in cycling while teaching confidence, health and fitness.
