Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives have charged a 25-year-old woman with death by motor vehicle after a fatal car crash that happened in west Charlotte nearby the CLT Airport.
After an investigation, it was determined that a Ford F350 was making a left turn during a green light onto Wilkinson Boulevard from Fieldridge Road, according to CMPD. At the same time, the Chevrolet 4000 was traveling on Wilkinson Boulevard and ran a solid, red light at the intersection Fieldridge Road, striking the Ford.
On Wednesday, a warrant for misdemeanor death by motor vehicle was issued for the arrest of Yesica Rocia Jimenez Broncano by police.
According to CMPD, she has since turned herself into the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and served with the warrant. Police say Broncano was also issued a citation for failing to stop at a red light.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives say the driver of a 2000 Ford F-350 Super Duty, 53-year-old Timothy Stancil, died after colliding with a 2008 Chevrolet 4000 on September 30th around 8 a.m.
Stancil was taken to Atrium Health- Main with life-threatening injuries after the crash where he later died around 10 a.m., according to a news release.
Investigators say three passengers in the Ford and one passenger in the Chevrolet were also taken to Atrium Health- Main with injuries, as the driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene.
Police say driver of the Chevrolet was heading west on Wilkinson Boulevard when it hit the Ford attempting to turn left from Fieldridge Road onto Wilkinson Boulevard.
Upon impact Stancil and his front seat passenger, who were not wearing seatbelts, were ejected from the vehicle, according to a news release.
Investigators say the intersection of Wilkinson Boulevard and Fieldridge Road has an active traffic control device, and impairment does not seem to be a factor in the fatal crash.
The investigation remains active, and police say anyone with more information should call Detective Kupfer at 704-432-2169 Extension 1 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
