MINT HILL, N.C. — Authorities say a man has died after a dirt wall collapsed.
According to Mint Hill Police Chief Tim Ledford, construction crews were working on a water line on Blackbird Hill Lane just after 6 p.m.
While trying to remove dirt from around the water line, the wall collapsed trapping the worker underneath.
The worker has been identified as James Mitcham. WCCB was told the hole was approximately 20 feet deep.
