Pedestrian Hit and Killed On I-85 In Cabarrus County

CONCORD, N.C. — All lanes of I-85 southbound in Cabarrus County have been reopened after a pedestrian was hit and killed early Thursday morning.  

Investigators say the accident happened around 5:30 a.m. near the Highway 73 exit.  Troopers say a 23-year-old man was hit by a vehicle after he tried to walk across the interstate.  

All southbound lanes of I-85 were closed for several hours.  No word on charges at this time.
