CNN officials say Biden is the first democrat to turn the state of Georgia blue in 28 years.

In both Georgia and North Carolina, counties are certifying their vote totals and sending them back to the state, according to CNN.

CNN officials say there is a hand recount underway in Georgia, but Biden has won the state with 14,152 votes ahead of Trump.

Officials say Trump has won North Carolina with 73,602 more votes than Biden, adding 15 electoral votes to Trump’s total.

CNN officials say there are not enough outstanding votes for either state to flip, and President-elect Joe Biden sits at 306 electoral votes versus Donald Trump at 232 electoral votes.
