Pierce is also sentenced to five years of supervised release and owes $4,500 in restitution, according to U.S. District Judge Kenneth Bell.

Deputies say Pierce robbed the Fifth Third Bank on Oakdale Road in Charlotte on February 18th. Police say Pierce pulled a gun on a teller and left the bank with $8,400.

CMPD officers say they found Pierce’s vehicle and apprehended him shortly after the robbery.

Police say during their investigation they concluded Pierce was also responsible for an armed robbery on January 7th at another Fifth Third Bank on Center Drive in Charlotte.

Pierce approached the counter with a gun pointed at the teller and one customer and demanded money, leaving with $4,500 in $100 bills, deputies say.

Police say on August 28th Pierce plead guilty to two counts of possession and brandishing a firearm to further a crime, and is in custody awaiting what federal facility he will be placed in.

The investigation was handled by the FBI and CMPD, officials say.
