LINCOLNTON, N.C. — A ten-year-old boy is in stable condition after an accidental hanging in a basketball net Sunday morning.
The boy was outside playing basketball when his grandmother saw him hanging from the 61 inch basketball goal and called his dad.
Deputies arrived around 9:30 a.m. at the residence on Long Shoals Road.
The boy’s father cut him down from the netting and performed CPR. The boy was airlifted to CMC-Lincoln and then taken to CMC-Main.
Long Shoals Fire Department and Lincoln County EMS also assisted on the scene.
