CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  Wilson visited the newest branch of the Friendship Trays non-profit organization today, Friendship Kitchen.  The Friendship Kitchen trains students while preparing healthy foods using locally sourced ingredients.  Students have opportunity to get hands on training and once graduating from the program will have the opportunity to test for ServeSafe certification.

Going outside Wilson visited one of the 70 gardens that comprise  Friendship Gardens which is another part of Friendship Trays.

Another part of Friendship Trays is the Friendship Market which is open from 9am until 2pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for diners to stop in and grab healthy lunch options.  The menu varies and everything that is served is prepared in the Friendship Kitchen.  Friendship Kitchen also provides catering for events and businesses.

Friendship Trays delivers more than 600  meals a day to elderly, handicapped, and convalescing people in the Charlotte area who are unable or greatly restricted in being able to prepare or obtain meals.

Find out more about Friendship Trays and all of their branches, Friendship Gardens, Friendship Kitchen  and Friendship Market at the Friendship Trays website HERE.
