Jennifer Lopez Gives A Patriotic Performance With Her Medley At Biden’s Inauguration

Jennifer Lopez performed a patriotic medley of “This Land is Your Land” and “America the Beautiful” at the inauguration ceremony swearing in Joe Biden as the 46th president of the United States.

Lopez threw in some Spanish during her performance that surprised some viewers when she said “Una nación, bajo Dios, indivisible, con libertad y justicia para todos,” or in English “One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Jennifer Lopez and her fiancé Alex Rodriquez have spoken out together about the importance of latinos voting, even sitting down with President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden to talk about the importance of the Latin community.

“My kind of hope and quest for the Latino community is that they start understanding their power. They understand what they mean to this country, that their vote counts,” Lopez said.

Lopez performed at the inauguration on January 20th in all-white Chanel look, a color representing suffragists, as did Vice President Kamala Harris when she wore an all-white pantsuit to her victory speech on November 7th.

Lopez combined a portion of the 1940’s Woodie Guthrie song “This Land is Your Land,” the classic “America the Beautiful,” and a portion of her own song “Let’s Get Loud!” during her performance.

Just the day before, Lopez thanked soldiers for their service on her arrival to Washington, D.C.
