MONROE, N.C. –  Search crews from Monroe and Charlotte have resumed searching for a teen who fell from a fishing boat Thursday evening on Lake Twitty.

A lack of visibility suspended the search Thursday night and left crews returning to the lake Friday morning to continue looking for Malique Streater, who may have suffered a seizure before falling from the boat.

Streater’s family told WCCB he was a rising senior at Forest Hills High School, and an honor student.  “He was a good person.  He always talked about going to church.  He never did nothing wrong,” said Streater’s cousin, Tanja Stevenson.

Streater and his grandfather participated in a bass fishing tournament every Thursday. Check back for updates to this developing story.
