Charlotte Road Closure Information

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Construction projects have caused closures on Providence, Beatties Ford, and Tom Hunter roads. 

Crews closed a portion of Providence Road in southeast Charlotte about 9:30 a.m. to begin installing a new sewer pipe and expected to continue until Monday morning.
 

In Northwest Mecklenburg County, a portion of Beatties Ford Road was closed off about 9:30 a.m., so crews could begin to work on a new bridge.

Tom Hunter Road will be closed at North Tryon Street all weekend due to construction on the extension of the light rail line.

Traffic will be halted between the intersection of Rea and Alexander Roads on the south, and Old Providence on the North. There are detours onto Old Providence and Rea Roads, or Sardis Road as an alternate.

A section of  road over McIntyre Creek on Beatties Ford Road will be closed until about Sept. 17, for construction of a new bridge and will affect traffic between Sunset Road and Lakeveiw Road.

The detour is on Sunset Road, Reames Road and Lakeview Road, back to Beatties Ford.

Tom Hunter Road is closed at the intersection with North Tryon Street will be closed from 6 p.m. Friday until 4 p.m. Monday, then will closed for the same hours next weekend. The closure will not affect  traffic on North Tryon Street.
