COLUMBIA, S.C. — Governor Henry McMaster issued an executive order on Friday lifting the mask mandate inside restaurants and government buildings.
Governor McMaster says this new order modifies existing emergency orders related to COVID-19, and starts the process of bringing state employees back to the workplace full-time.
βNow that the majority of South Carolinians are eligible to receive the vaccine, and infections and hospitalizations have dropped significantly, state agency heads may safely bring back the last group of state employees working remotely,β said Gov. Henry McMaster.
Health officials still recommend wearing a mask inside South Carolina restaurants even though it is no longer mandated.
