Deputies say on March 14th they responded to a home on Boyd Road in reference to a death, only to find Clyde Shirley had died and his body had been left in a closet.

Detectives say Clyde Shirley likely died on February 25th and his body remained in the closet inside the home for at least two weeks.

Investigators say William Shirley neglected to provide basic care for his father, who was in poor health, and used his father’s money to support his drug habit.

William Shirley is being held at the Chester County Detention Center awaiting trial, according to a news release.

Officials with the Chester County Sheriff’s Office, Chester County Coroner’s Office, and SLED helped in investigating this case.
