TORONTO (AP)β Edwin Encarnacion (en-kar-nah-see-OHN’) hit a walk-off three-run homer with two outs in the ninth to give Toronto a 7-4 win over Milwaukee in an interleague matchup of division leaders. Encarnacion is tied with Baltimore’s Nelson Cruz for the major league home run lead with 26.

NEW YORK (AP) β In the NBA, the Brooklyn Nets have moved swiftly to hire a coach in the wake of losing Jason Kidd, who was introduced Thursday as the Milwaukee Bucks’ new coach. The Nets have agreed in principle on a deal to hire former Memphis coach Lionel Hollins, who guided the Grizzlies to the 2013 Western Conference finals before he and the team parted ways.
UNDATED (AP) β On the second day of NHL free agency, the New York Islanders made the biggest splash by signing forwards Mikhail Grabovski and Nikolai Kulemin (NIH’-koh-ly KOOL’-ay-mihn) to four-year contracts. Grabovski’s deal is worth $20 million, while Kulemin will make $16.75 million.
