Eat Black Charlotte Week: Jimmy Pearls

The first ever Eat Black Charlotte Week runs today, June 4 – Saturday, June 12, highlighting black-owned food and beverage restaurants with a set prix fix menu.

Lifeguard Shortages In Mecklenburg County Trickling Down To Neighborhood Pools And Causing Staffing Problems

A message was sent to neighbors Friday in the Wellington neighborhood off Prosperity Church Road in North Charlotte. The pool closed on Saturday because of staffing issues saying: "It just takes 1 guard to call in sick, and our pool would close. This was never an issue before because there were always plenty of guards to go around and pick up extra shifts. This is not the case this summer."

Renaissance Festival Auditions Underway

The Carolina Renaissance Festival, a combination of outdoor theater, circus, arts and crafts fair, jousting tournament and feast, will hold open auditions on Saturday, June 12th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Saturday, June 19th from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Cannon School located at 5801 Poplar Tent Road in Concord.
