Shocking video shows man shooting front door of Rock Hill family’s home

ROCK HILL, SC — Violence brought to Shifarnia McCullough’s front door. For her 19-year-old daughter, Camariya Tidwell, that violence would continue into the night.

“My baby died in front of me in my arms senselessly,” said McCullough.

Tidwell was murdered at her home on Mount Gallant Road in Rock Hill late Saturday night. Police arrested 34-year-old Sean Hubbard for her murder.

“We sat there and watched my baby lay on the ground dead. This man shot my baby with a rifle.
She had nine holes in her body,” explained McCullough.

According to McCullough, Hubbard came to their house last Tuesday and shot into the home. They filed a report with police but she said detectives didn’t reach out until Friday.

McCullough told WCCB he returned on Saturday evening when he was allegedly caught on doorbell video shooting at the home. Police showed up shortly after.

Fearing for her family’s safety, McCullough said she told police they were going to leave their house but requested an officer stayed on patrol near the property until they could get their belongings and find a place to go.

“They say, well, we’ll allow officer to sit across the street at Helens. He was across the street. He probably was there 15 minutes and he came back and told them he had to go. So we were left there basically sitting ducks,” explained McCullough of the officer leaving.

Hubbard allegedly came back about an hour after police left at ten. In the video you can see a man believed to be Hubbard, walking up the side of the house, appearing to hold the same rifle covered up in a blanket. He then goes out of view of the camera and seconds later, a gunshot can be heard.

The Rock Hill Police Department sent WCCB this statement:

“We had 8 officers respond to the shooting at 8:30pm. These officers met with everyone who came to the house as no one was home during the time of the shooting. Our officers canvassed the area looking for the suspect and his vehicle that was described to them. Using information provided they worked to identify the suspect and a last known address in York County. A request was made to the York County Sheriff’s Office to assist by going to that address and try to locate the suspect and the vehicle. The deputies did not locate either at the address.

Our officers worked on this case until 10 p.m. and began answering other citizen calls for police. The last officer stayed later expecting the family would be leaving however more vehicles and people came to the house. When asked about leaving, it was expressed they were not leaving for the evening. The officer observed as the people at home engaged in what we describe as a social gathering. Β The officer stayed until he had to go assist with other calls as there was no indication anyone was attempting to leave the home that evening.

The scene when our officers arrived at 11p.m., coincides with a social gathering was still occurring in the yard when the deadly shooting occurred.”
