DETROIT (AP) β€” Felix Hernandez of the Mariners is out to get his 14th win of the season tonight as Seattle plays at Detroit. Going for the Tigers is David Price who is an 11-game winner this season.

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) β€” Qualifying is taking place today for tomorrow’s IndyCar race in West Allis, Wisconsin. In the overall drivers’ standings the leader is Will Power with Penske teammate Helio Castroneves (EHL’-ee-oh kas-troh-NEH’-vehz) four points back.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) β€” This is the third day of play at the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Today’s schedule calls for five more games as the players eye a spot in the championship game a week from tomorrow.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) β€” Panthers coach Ron Rivera says quarterback Cam Newton will see his first game action since undergoing ankle surgery in March when the Panthers host the Chiefs tomorrow night. Rivera says he expects Newton to play at least a quarter, but he could see additional action depending on how well the offensive line protects him.
