YORK COUNTY, S.C. — Troopers say one person has died following a car accident in Clover. The accident happened just before 3 p.m. on Highway 55 near Agony Acres Road.
Clover School District has confirmed that a Bethany Elementary School teacher was involved and had minor injuries.
The teacher, Jenni Quinn, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet SUV east on Highway 55. The driver of the second vehicle, 73-year-old Bonnie Sanford, was driving a 2004 four-door sedan north on Agony Acres Road when she ran a stop sign and crashed into Quinn’s car. Sanford was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. She was killed on impact. Mary McCarter, a passenger in Sanford’s car was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with minor injuries.
