NEW YORK (AP) β The roster is set for the U.S. men’s national basketball team. It was announced today that Derrick Rose has made the team while Damian Lillard, Kyle Korver, Gordon Hayward and Chandler Parsons were cut. Rose was expected to make the team if he was healthy enough after missing most of the last two seasons following two knee surgeries.
GOLD COAST, Australia (AP) β American Katie Ledecky (leh-DEK’-ee) has broken the world record in the women’s 400-meter freestyle at the Pan Pacific championships in Australia. The 17-year-old won her fourth gold medal of the meet, taking 0.49 seconds off her world mark from the U.S. nationals to lower the record to 3 minutes, 58.37 seconds.

SPA, Belgium (AP) β Nico (NEE’-koh) Rosberg will start tomorrow’s Belgian Grand Prix from the pole after clinching the top spot in qualifying today. Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton was the second-fastest qualifier while four-time defending world champion Sebastian Vettel grabbed the third spot.
