NBA-SCHEDULE
Cavs going for No. 8
UNDATED (AP) β Cleveland puts its seven-game winning streak on the line tonight in New York when the Cavaliers face the Knicks in Madison Square Garden. The Cavs are seeking their first 8-1 start since the 1976-77 season. The Knicks enter the game 4-5. The teams met earlier in the season in Cleveland with the Cavs walking off the court with a 96-86 win.
The Atlanta Hawks are off to a great start as well with wins in eight of their 10 games. Tonight the Hawks are on the road for a game with the Celtics. Atlanta’s Al Horford is enjoying a good early season, averaging 17.6 points and eight rebounds a game while shooting 51.7 per cent from the floor.
With Paul George showing no signs of rust after missing last season with an injury, the Indiana Pacers have won five of their last six games. This evening the Pacers are playing host to the Timberwolves, who fell to the Warriors last night in Minneapolis.
Oklahoma City entertains Philadelphia tonight and Kevin Durant will be watching from the sidelines. He’ll miss seven to 10 days of playing time after straining his left hamstring against the Wizards earlier in the week. The 76ers are off to another horrible start with losses in all eight games.
Kobe Bryant may be back in action for the Lakers tonight when they play the Mavs in Dallas. He’s missed two games with a sore back. The Lakers need him as they have dropped eight straight to the Mavericks.
The schedule maker wasn’t very nice to the Toronto Raptors, giving them just four home games between Nov. 3 and Dec. 2. One of those games is tonight as they entertain the Pelicans.
The rest of the card tonight has Utah playing at Orlando, the Bulls home to Charlotte, Portland in Memphis, Denver on the home court for a game with Houston and Brooklyn at Sacramento.

The Sharks open a six-game road trip tonight in Detroit. This evening’s game is the first of two between the clubs this season after splitting two games last season.

SANDUSKY-PENSION
Court reinstates Sandusky’s pension
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) β Former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky, who is serving time in prison for sexually abusing 10 boys, has had his pension restored by a Pennsylvania court. A Commonwealth Court panel ruled unanimously that the State Employees’ Retirement Board wrongly concluded Sandusky was a Penn State employee when he committed the crimes.
The pension is worth about $4,900 a month to Sandusky and his wife.
On top of that the judges also ordered the board to pay back interest.
