CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A suspected serial robber is taking down his victims with a stun gun. He’s wanted for at least three robberies in the last week and a half.
Surveillance video shows the violent move. His latest victim, Anna, asked that we not reveal her last name.
“It was painful,” said Anna. “It was painful the first time. The second I was numb. Yeah, I was just too numb. I didn’t feel it.”
A feeling all his targets know. The first target is seen covering her face in a panic. Just knowing she is not the first victim weighs heavy on Anna.
“I was upset because they need to catch him,” she said. “He doesn’t have the right to do that at all.”
The surveillance footage comes from the first store police say he robbed. That was the Citgo on The Plaza last Monday.
One week later, he hit up the 7-Eleven on Old Concord Rd.
On Wednesday, he robbed the Giant Penny Grocery on The Plaza.
In each of the three cases, victims say he walked into the store and asked for a Black and Mild. When the clerk opened the cash register, he shocked them with the stun gun and ran.
“I was frozen when it happened so all it really is… it took about less than two minutes,” said Anna.
Two minutes that customers like Van Green think the thief should experience himself.
“Once they get him, he should be tazed so he knows how it feels,” said Green.
As for Anna, she has two kids to care for. She went back to work with her boss’s help, not allowing the attacker to jolt her.
“I just stayed calm and went back to work, not letting him bother me,” said Anna. “I can’t let him bring me down.”
She hopes he sees the hurt he’s caused and puts down the stun gun.
