Students Honor Dr. King by Giving Back
CHARLOTTE, NC — Honoring by giving back. Millions across the country honored Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Monday by reaching out in the community.
Students from Central Piedmont Community College spent their holiday volunteering as part of the MLK Challenge. The groups had to work together to complete projects without many resources.
We caught up with students preparing a three-course meal at Hospitality House.
“I think that’s what Martin Luther King wanted us to do, is to come together as a unity, as a group, and to do things for people and show our true character,” said CPCC student Nicole Phillips.
The students cooked dinner for 30 people. Hospitality House provides shelter for people who have family in nearby hospitals.
