CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a man was arrested for sexually assaulting a woman who was walking her dog on the greenway in southeast Charlotte.
Detectives say the victim was walking along the McAlpine Greenway Tuesday evening around 5pm when Tenedrick Strudwick stopped to talk with the victim about her dog.
Strudwick is accused of pulling out a sock and hitting the victim several times in the head with an unknown blunt object that was inside the sock.
Police say Strudwick then dragged the victim to a wooded area and sexually assaulted her.
The victim was able to get back to the trail and sought assistance from a citizen.
Police, with the assistance of the Aviation Unit, arrested Strudwick on East W.T. Harris Boulevard. Investigators say Strudwick had the victim’s cell phone on him.
He is facing the following charges: 1st degree forcible rape, armed robbery, two counts of 1st degree forcible sex offense, 1st degree kidnapping and possession of marijuana.
