Mother And Son Killed After Being Hit In Kings Mountain, Driver Identified
KINGS MOUNTAIN, NC — A mother and her son were hit and killed in Gaston County early Thursday morning.
Family members tell WCCB, 30-year-old Clarissa Ussery was walking with her son 15-month-old Kaidence Clemons when they were hit by a truck on North Cansler Street.
Kings Mountain Police say the accident happened just before 5am, and have identified the driver as Danny Cooke of Kings Mountain.
A family member says they heard a loud boom outside their home and saw Ussery and her son.
Police say no charges have been filed at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
