The post reads:

It is with sincere reflection that we announce the news of Futo Buta’s permanent closure. For nearly a decade, we have had the privilege of serving thousands of ramen bowls, witnessing Charlotte and beyond embrace the vision crafted and cherished by Chef Michael Shortino.

Just as a death does not diminish the life of a loved one, the closing of a restaurant does not erase the impact it has had on a community. Michael’s life was, and is, so greatly intertwined with this concept, one that cultivated an incredible story, marked with truly life changing relationships.

We would like to thank our staff, past and present. The human element has always been the key to our success, and all of you have greatly contributed your dedication, and passion to the accomplishments created within these walls.

Our wish is that you carry on the memories you have made at our establishment: the first dates, the late-night take-out, the camaraderie with your co-workers, and the milestones you celebrated while slurping a bowl of noodles.

We know Chef is up there, still listening to Pearl Jam and Motorhead, celebrating all of you.

Cheers,

Futo Buta
