Police Find Missing Charlotte Uber Driver’s SUV in Maryland

CHARLOTTE, NC – New clues tonight in the search for a missing Charlotte Uber driver.

Police in Maryland tracked down Marlo Medina-Chevez’s SUV and arrested two men who were inside.

“When we got the call that they found the car, it, I mean, it’s a step closer to finding my dad,” explains daughter Debora Medina.

No one has seen Medina-Chevez since he left his Steel Creek home to drive for Uber Saturday night.

But late Monday – a break in the case.

Investigators discovered the missing man’s credit card was used in Maryland.

Police used that information to find his 2008 Nissan Pathfinder.

“At about 11:50pm, they were notified by the Annapolis police department that they had received a license plate reader hit on Mr. Medina-Chevez’s car,” explains CMPD Major Cam Selvey.

Two men were arrested after a traffic stop near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

20-year-old James Stevens is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.

And 25-year-old Diontray Adams is charged with credit card fraud.

“He’s almost home. We’re so close to finding him. A car gives us hope, even if it’s just a car,” Medina says.

Police are also looking into tips that Medina-Chevez may have been spotted in East Charlotte near Eastway Drive and The Plaza.

“We’re not sure if it’s true or not because, people get confused, but it’s still giving us hope,” Medina says.
For now, police say they still consider Medina-Chevez to be in “grave danger.”

“We’re not being pessimistic and we just have our hopes up that we’re going to find him,” Medina says.
