Concord man arrested, charged with attempted murder in shooting of roommate

CONCORD, N.C. – Concord Police have made an arrest in a shooting that happened over the weekend.

Officers say 60-year-old Jose Martinez pulled the trigger in the backyard of a home on Crowell Drive SW Sunday afternoon. The victim is an unnamed 37-year-old man, who police saw is Martinez’s roommate. The victim was taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators believe the violence stemmed from an argument. Martinez is being held without bond, charged with attempted first-degree murder.
