CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Foundation is getting a major boost. Wednesday in Uptown, QuikTrip donated $500,000 to the foundation.
QuikTrip Charlotte Division Operations Manager Nick Gracek says, “We’re incredibly grateful for the officers who put their lives on the line every day to protect our community. And we’re committed to supporting them with the resources they need to do their job, go home safe to their families, and come back and do it all over again.”
CMPD Chief Estella Patterson called the donation a statement of confidence in the work CMPD is doing in the community.
CMPD says QuikTripβs investment will provide “critical resources, technology and programs that enhance officer safety, expand community engagement and support CMPD employees across the department.” The department says the CharlotteβMecklenburg Police Foundation will direct the grant toward “highβimpact initiatives that accelerate CMPDβs strategic priorities, including technology innovation, communityβfocused programming and officer wellness.”
