CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer has been arrested and charged with 8 counts of obtaining property by false pretense. Michael Thompson is accused of falsifying time sheets while working an off-duty job for the Berewick Homeowners Association.
Thompson has been with CMPD since May 2007. He has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the results of the investigation.
In a statement released by Police Chief Rodney Monroe on Thursday he said “The actions of this officer do not reflect the character of the dedicated men and women that wear the badge of the CMPD with honor. We will continue to hold officers to the highest standards and accountable for their actions.”
