First Responders Spread Holiday Cheer At Levine Children’s Hospital

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — First responders and community members drove by the Levine Children’s Hospital blaring their sirens and flashing their lights on Friday for the second-annual event supporting pediatric patients and healthcare workers during the holiday season, officials say.

Officials with the Levine Children’s Hospital say the community was encouraged to gather virtually for the second-annual “Lights for Levine” event held on December 4th.

Patients watched from their windows with their own flashlights as firefighters, police, and community members drove by honking and blaring their sirens at 7 p.m. for the holiday-themed event.

Officials say due to COVID-19 concerns the event was held virtually this year, besides the parade portion where everyone stayed in their respective vehicles, and the community was asked to follow along on a Zoom call with candles and flashlights from home.
