New Concerns About Possible Post-Christmas COVID Surge
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – New concerns about a possible post-Christmas surge in COVID cases.
More than a million people passed through airport security in the U.S. on Sunday, the most since the pandemic began.
Some promising news though, as residents as local long-term care facilities begin to get the vaccine.
300 residents at Wellmore of Tega Cay received a vaccine on Monday.
They’re some of the first to get it in our area.
Vaccinations can’t come soon enough, considering North Carolina hit another record high in hospitalizations on Monday.
Across the country, more than 63,000 Americans have died from COVID-19 so far this month.
Charlotte Douglas Airport was packed with passengers on Sunday.
The airport says nearly 19,000 local passengers flew out of Charlotte.
The TSA says 1.28 million people passed through security at airports nationwide the same day.
It’s a big concern, considering the spike in cases seen after Thanksgiving and other holidays since the pandemic began.
