Senior Prank At East Lincoln High School Leads To 12 Students Being Charged

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — A senior prank at East Lincoln High School that left the school and buses with damages Monday resulted in 12 students facing charges, deputies say.

Officers responded to the school on Tuesday in response to the vandalism at the school. School officials reported buses and some interior areas of the school building had been covered with some type sticky substance and glitter, according to a news release. Deputies were also advised some type meat and eggs had been placed in the HVAC system on the roof of the school. The damages are estimated at approximately $5,000.

After viewing school security video, school officials identified 12 students involved in the prank. They met with the students and parents about the incident which led to them admitting to their involvement.

Warrants were issued Wednesday against the students involved.

According to deputies, Zachary Nguyen, Nathan Thompson, Zachary Dellinger, William White, Jonathan Nauman, John Dallin, Brock Callahan and Ian Hall, all 18 years old and students at the school, were charged with misdemeanor offenses. So far seven of the students charged in the incident turned themselves in at the Magistrate’s Office.

Juvenile petitions are being drawn on four students Thursday. The charges ranged from trespassing, breaking and entering, injury to real property and injury to personal property, according to a news release.
