CATS Announces Service Modifications

Starting on Wednesday, March 25, CATS will make modifications to transit service to accommodate the current need for demand. CATS bus and LYNX light rail ridership has decreased up to 41%. CATS will operate a temporary modified schedule seven-days-a-week, fare-free, until further notice.

Β Actor-singer Kenny Rogers, the smooth, Grammy-winning balladeer who spanned jazz, folk, country and pop with such hits as β€œLucille,” β€œLady” and β€œIslands in the Stream” and embraced his persona as β€œThe Gambler” on record and on TV, died Friday night. He was 81.

New York Joins California In Locking Down Against The Virus

New York state moved to join California on Friday in confining nearly all residents to their homes, as governors undertook their most sweeping efforts yet to contain the coronavirus and fend off the kind of onslaught of patients that has caused southern Europe to buckle.

Large Gatherings Prohibited, Restaurants And Bars Closed Across The Carolinas

In response to the fast-spreading coronavirus, gatherings of 50 or more people in Mecklenburg County are now banned. This follows an executive order that put a halt to events of 100 or more people across North Carolina. Restaurants and bars have now been ordered to close too but to-go and delivery orders are permitted.

Community Spread Continues To Be A Concern In Mecklenburg County

WCCB asked the Mecklenburg County Health Director why church's don't have to follow the federal gathering guidelines. Senior Pastor Brian Carn posted a video on YouTube, citing the Bible for why Kingdom City Church members continue to come to worship.Β  One of the churches is in Charlotte on Dr. Carver Road.
