There is a dire need for protective medical equipment across the county due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Part of that need is being fulfilled by a manufacturing company in Rock Hill.
Local and state leaders urging people to abide by the stay-at-home orders. The calls for compliance come as the first two COVID-19 related deaths in North Carolina are reported in Cabarrus County.
Mecklenburg County officials issued a stay-at-home order on Tuesday in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The move is to restrict the movement of people within the county as much as possible.
A new executive order from North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper will keep all K-12 public schools closed through May 15th. The stateβs 1.5 million students have been home since March 16th.
There is social isolation for many people as events are cancelled and gathering places closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Social distancing means cooped up and kept away. Mecklenburg county health officials are letting people know that doesn't mean you have to stay indoors.
People are cleaning their homes, work spaces, and everything else they come into contact with to stop the spread of Coronavirus.
" All of our lives are going to change in some way in response to this virus," said North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper on Wednesday during a news conference in Charlotte.Β
