• Charlotte's "Got A lot"...of Beer

One thing Charlotte is known for is their craft beer. Home to many large breweries such as NoDa Brewery, Triple C, and Birdsong, (among many others), one thing I’ve learned is that Charlotte loves its beer. If you haven’t been to any of the breweries, I highly recommend stopping in and trying a flight. For those of you who have already enjoyed Charlotte Breweries, why not try a Brewery Tour, or one of the activities at a brewery? On Wednesdays, NoDa Brewery offers a 5K running group. Nothing says “making friends” more like sweating it out with a stranger and having a pint after to celebrate.  Brewery Tour Charlotte offers a brewery tour on the last Sunday of every month. They explore up and coming breweries, as well as the big named ones.

For those of you who aren’t (yet) into the craft beer scene, check out our activities for this week!

1:00pm: Brewery Tour Charlotte’s “Hops and Pops”...

Rí Rá Charlotte will hold a Wine and Small Plate Tasting on the 8th August 2014 from 6pm. It will be a special tasting of wine from the Irish owned Concannon vineyard, located along California’s central coast. The tasting will comprise several different wines from the region paired with some delicious small plates developed to compliment these wines, capping the evening off with a tasting of Concannon Irish Whiskey.
The Concannon Winery, the first ever Irish -American winery, was built by James Concannon in 1865, when he sailed from the rocky coast of Ireland’s Aran Islands for America’s fertile shores in search of a better life. Nearly 150 years later, his family returned to Ireland to craft Concannon Irish Whiskey. They teamed up with Ireland’s Cooley’s Distillery to craft this special whiskey which is distilled then aged for a minimum of 4 years and finished in Concannon’ s wine casks to impart rich and complex flavors....

Summer time in Charlotte can be wildly unpredictable; last year it rained almost everyday and was still somehow over 100 degrees! This year has been incredible with the days hitting the high 80s to low 90s and nights cooling off in the lower 70s and even high 60s. With this incredible fortune I can guarantee you’ve been to the beach, you’ve been to the pool, you’ve grilled outside, and you probably even laid out on your rooftop. So I think it’s about time to change it up this Sunday July 27th and get on board with Brewery Tour Charlotte.

When you think of craft beer you probably think of Fall with Oktoberfest and all the incredible festivals that happen right here in Charlotte. Well why wait till fall to have incredible craft beers right here in the Queen City? This tour screams Summer Sunday Funday! The July featured breweries include The Unknown Brewing Company, Birdsong Brewing, and Heist; and guess what they all have? Summer beers! If that...
