Horse’s Death May Prompt New Ordinance

MONROE, NC — Major news in the case of Joby, the horse shot and killed in its pasture in Monroe on July 4th.

The horse’s owner, Susanne Wright, tells WCCB that Union County Sheriff Eddie Cathey supports the idea to create a new ordinance that would address future similar incidents.

Joby was killed by a stray bullet, fired from a neighbor’s property. Similar ordinances already exist in Mecklenburg and Wake Counties.

A memorial will be held for Joby on Saturday, July 23. Check the Justice for Joby Facebook page for details.
