Better weather moves in on Monday
A beautiful week ahead
It was a windy, and for some a wet Sunday across the WCCB Charlotte viewing area. Winds gust past 30mph in the Queen City this afternoon as a coastal storm continues to churn along the Carolina coastline. The good news is things will wind down overnight as rain becomes more isolated and winds slowly die down. By Monday morning, we are dry and sunshine returns to the area. Highs will hit the upper 70s in the Piedmont, and mid 60s in the High Country.
That sets up what will be one of the more quiet weeks weatherwise. Highs stay in the upper 70s and lows in the lower 50s through Wednesday. I am tracking a backdoor cold front that looks to work through on Thursday. This won’t bring any rain, but will cool temperatures further. We could see lows drop into the 40s in Charlotte by Friday morning.
Enjoy the beautiful weather this week, but keep in mind the dry weather will increase the likelihood of wildfire concerns. Late fall is notorious locally for heightened wildfire likelihood, and this dry stretch won’t help. It’s also a great week to visit the High Country and get those fall pictures with the fall foliage as peak viewing arrives over the next 7 days!
