Significant severe weather threat Monday

The second round Monday morning: A line of thunderstorms forming just ahead of the cold front will move into the North Carolina mountains. This round could pack more of a punch. The main concerns will be damaging wind gusts and the potential for a few isolated tornadoes as the line of storms pushes through Timing Monday- Mountains 5am-9am, East of the mountains 9am-1pm Have multiple ways to get alerts tonight into tomorrow. Some storms will happen in the dark so have a plan in place.

Tornadoes Pummel Alabama, Killing At Least 5

Deadly tornadoes roared through Alabama on Thursday, toppling trees, demolishing homes and knocking out power to thousands, part of a broad swath of violent weather sweeping across the Deep South. At least five fatalities and an unknown number of injuries were reported.
