A record-long streak of U.S. job growth ended suddenly in March after nearly a decade as employers cut 701,000 jobs because of the viral outbreak that’s all but shut down the U.S. economy. The unemployment rate jumped to 4.4% from a 50-year low of 3.5%.

Nurse At Mecklenburg County Juvenile Detention Center Tests Positive For COVID-19

The Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office contracts with Wellpath, LLC to provide healthcare services to our residents at both our main Detention Center Central as well as our Juvenile Detention Center (formerly known as Detention Center North). On Sunday, March 22, one of Wellpath’s nurses reported to work at the Juvenile Detention Center and passed through the standard screening which includes a temperature read as well as questions regarding potential symptoms and exposures related to COVID-19.
