CMPD announces death of K-9 Cali

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department announced the death of K-9 Cali. The drug detection dog served with the department's Airport Unit for more than seven years.

Advocates calling for change in Sugar Creek corridor

People who live in the Sugar Creek corridor say they are sick of the prostitution, drugs and violence on Reagan Drive. Dozens of advocates met at the corner of West Sugar Creek Road at Reagan Drive for a rally Tuesday afternoon.

CMPD: Violent crime in Charlotte is down 25%

CMPD just announced that overall crime is down eight-percent compared to the first two quarters of 2024. They say violent crime has taken the biggest tumble and is down 25 percent.
